About the Clatsop Weavers and Spinners Guild
-
All of our members are weavers and/or spinners. New interested weavers or spinners are welcome to attend a business meeting to learn more about the guild and potential membership. In addition to weaving and spinning, many members engage in other fiber arts practices.
-
We normally hold our business meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 11:00 a.m. The doors open at 10:30 for optional social time before the beginning of the business meeting. For 2026, in January – April and June – November, we will be meeting at the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum, 115 Lake Street SE, Ilwaco, WA 98624. May and December will be our Potlucks and will be in a member’s home.

We also meet during what we call Fiber Day (formerly spinning group) where spinners, knitters, and others doing handwork meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon, at either Sandy’s Upstairs Studio at Bert’s Garage, 202 14th Street South, Long Beach, WA or on Zoom. In nice weather, we try to meet in a park (usually alternating between Oregon and Washington).
-
At the present time, we have one study group, the Spinning Study Group. This group meets most months on the 3rd Saturday. The location varies, but we try to meet at the Community Room in Ilwaco, which is located in the same building as the library at 120 First Avenue North, Ilwaco, WA.
-
Finally, a group (most are guild members, but this is not an official guild activity) gets together at the Peninsula Arts Center in Long Beach on the first Saturday from 10 am until noon to socialize, spin, knit or do other hand work. Both guild members and non-guild members are welcome..
-
Dues are $30 per year payable in December for the Guild year (January 1 – December 31) and can be pro-rated.
-
Just so you know, we have some members (or they have a family member) who have medical vulnerabilities. We ask that members and guests keep vaccines current to reduce the spread of illness. Likewise, members and guests are requested not to attend in-person functions if ill, to freely utilize masks and distancing, and to be mindful of hand-washing and sanitizing.
